Howto: Upload Avatars Link [FAQ3]
Adding avatars is not that tricky although we have had a few problems with avatars in other versions so if you are about to upload an avatar continue reading, there are a few things to think about. Before we go through the next steps remember that you must have your avatar on your own computer hard drive. You cannot upload an image using the http command!

Small or Large?
There are two sizes to choose from; 50x50 and 100x100. The 50x50 is always showing up on your profile page and it can also be displayed in some of the top lists in the C:DOSians section.

The 100x100 is only visible in the forums if you have chosen to view the forums with large avatars. If you still have the “Small” option selected your 50x50 avatar will be shown in the forums instead.

Files?
Your images can have two extensions; either jpg or gif. It is very important to use small characters and NOT capitals like JPG/GIF. If you notice that your avatar you are about to upload ends with JPG or GIF in capital letters you must change that otherwise your avatar will not be displayed on the page.

Animations?
If you are uploading animated gif avatars they will NOT work on the site! Please keep the avatars as one frame images.

Reduce size
If you upload a Large avatar and your image is larger then 100x100 your image will be reduced in size. To maintain the quality of your avatar you should try to cut the image yourself before adding it. A image in a size 500x800 will not look good in a 100x100 or 50x50 scale.

Fast guide

- make sure the avatar is in jpg or gif format
- make sure the extension is in small characters
- do not use animations
- reduce your image before adding it to the site
- there are two sizes 50x50 and 100x100 available
