USCF Chess from Interplay is the only PC chess game that is endorsed by the United States Chess Federation and it reserves the honor of the most advanced artificial chess intelligence created for home personal computer use. There are excellent tutorials from beginners to intermediate and has much to offer for the chess master as well.
USCF Chess offers you an impressive 300,000 opening moves and strategies and the ability to watch and learn from historical chess matches of Grand Master Tournaments. A totally unique feature is the ability to play and achieve official USCF Chess ranking with their ratings points. All you need to do is create a profile, you can start as a beginner or enter yourself as Kasparov or Fischer skill level or of course, you can choose to play a non rated match. In the rated games you are unable to take back a move and you are unable to have the computer to make a move for you. The rated games have an effect on your numerical rating. Whether you are winning games or losing games your rating will increase or decrease. With the unrated games you are able to go back and change your moves and find out why the strategy you were using did not work. Also, the computer will measure your skill and you can print a certificate with your ranking, which is accepted in national tournaments by the USCF.
Unlike many of today’s chess games USCF Chess will the computer will not give you any type of suggestions for strategy or moves and there is also no after game tutorial.
There is a good variety of 2D and 3D boards to choose from. USCF Chess is a nice, relaxing game but still a mentally stimulating game; there is not much mouse and keyboard action to worry about. Another good feature is the mentor element of the game that gives you step by step commentary throughout the game.
USCF Chess is good for all levels of players from beginners to advanced players. It’s a great way to learn the basics of chess and also advanced enough to keep chess masters stimulated and provide them with loads of challenges to face. There are also some of your standard chess puzzles that are fun to check out but you need a basic knowledge of chess before you will be able to solve these puzzles they don not seem to be for the novice just starting out. I highly recommend downloading it!

~dorento1USCF Chess is a simulation game from Interplay that stimulates the mind by making you use strategy to beat your opponent, whether it is the computer or your friends online. It is tailored for intermediate to advance players, but with the AI system, it allows even the novice chess player to create a user profile and play. It is the only classic computer game to be officially endorsed by the United States Chess Federation.
It is a straight-up, no-holds-barred simulation game that will not baby the novice chess player, although you are welcome to give it a shot. It challenges even the most advanced players and takes about thirty minutes to learn how to play and navigate. With being able to create a user profile, it allows players to compete in rated and non-rated games.
Rated games are a more challenging way to play as you will be playing against others who are the same skill level that you have placed in your profile. When you set up your profile, you can choose your skill level. Skill levels range anywhere from novice to Kasparov or Fischer. When you play in a rated match, your skill level points will either increase or decrease, depending on if you won or lost the game. The points that you earn in rated game play are used towards actual tournaments.
In non-rated games, you are able to set your skill level as well as the computer’s to give yourself either a challenging game or an easy one for you to win. In some chess games, the computer will give you tips and suggestions, whereas this one does not. Although as helpful as this feature may have been, it still makes you think and use your brain power to beat your opponent. A good feature is a little window that lets you follow the computer’s thought process, which you can then use to take advantage over the game. You can take your moves back in this type of game which is a plus because you can’t in a rated game.
I highly recommend downloading this challenging and addictive game! You’ll de satisfied and delighted!
