This is an unusual combination of hentai fetish and a mind-bending, number crunching game. Most of the time, programmers creating a game with mature themes make a point of making it mindless and silly, assuming that the user can only concentrate on one aspect of the game: either the erotic tease, or the actual play of the game. Sexy Droids actually expects the user to be stimulated by the pictures, and still play a game of addition and subtraction with a little strategy involved.
When playing Sexy Droids, the first thing the user has to remember is that the visuals are of droids. The people who tagged this game with this title weren’t trying to trick anyone with it. The gamer is not going to play the puzzle game, win and see some immaculately drawn graphic of hot model or a sexy Japanese anime girl. He is going to see a robot with some human female features on her metal frame. Obviously, only certain people are going to find this a turn-on, hence the fetish idea. The droids are in provocative poses, if a machine can be provocative, and they are wearing clothing that falls somewhere between swimwear and safety gear.
The game itself is a number puzzle. It actually does require some forethought, similar to chess. The user and his opponent (the AI, or the game does support multiplayer gaming) take turns removing numbered tiles from a board. Red tiles add to total scores, and black ones take points away. One player can only add the tiles in vertical lines, and the other takes the horizontal position. As the players remove tiles, the goal is to make sure that the tiles remaining on the board will make a higher total for you than your opponent. Sometimes taking a deduction in points for one turn can really set up a big score in the next. As the tiles are removed and the game plays out, the user will get to see the bonus picture of the nicely drawn sexy druid…art work by Hajime Sorayama, famous Japanese artist.
Sexy Droids is truly an odd combination of things. I should think it is one of a kind, as I cannot think of any other mature mathematical puzzle games. If not entirely unique, it can certainly be classified as different. This is one you have to download just to see it.
