[i]Risk[/i].... What is there to say about the board game that you don't already know? This is a timeless classic, before we had computers we had [i]Risk[/i]. It is one of the best war board games ever and what's great about the computer version is that it has good graphics. All the dice throwing has been done away with and there are also several different types of rules you can play with, so no matter how you play, you are covered by the game.
For those of you who don't know the game, if you are out there, [i]Risk[/i] is a game of luck and strategy. Depending on the game mode, your goal is to conquer the world, dominate certain areas of the world or just destroy one of up to eight or your adversaries. You start out by randomly dividing the world between the different players, then you get a certain amount of ground forces to strategically place where you see fit. After that, the game really starts. Now you take turns to ˜command and conquer' with the troops at your disposal. There is even an option to skip your turn to build up arms instead.
It is a very fun multiplayer game and it is easy to get consumed in the lust for world power. So make sure that you keep your head cool and never get too eager otherwise you will give the game away to the other player. Single-player is alright; the computer does more or less what you'd expect, so it's not much of a challenge there. Whatever you do in the game, make sure you are thinking as a commander... although it's easier said than done.
The game makes it easy to enjoy. There are no flaws, none that I have found anyway. If you are into board games, it's a fun game to play and it is not overly time consuming: a game doesn't normally take more than between 15 to 45 minutes, depending on your skill.
