Does anyone know?
~poetdowns : Newbie @ 7th June -10, 20:11 in Forums : General Discussions

Greetings,

Does anyone know if there's someplace like this, but for win98 games? Not that i'm going to stop playing my DOS games. But since this site is specialized, i thought if there was one that specialized in win98 games, odds are someone here would know. I just can't find anything anymore, and i'm getting pretty tired of people acting like i'm a freak 'cause of the OS i'm using.

merci,
Poet

Win 98 to XP is only 2 years, look at a few game boxes from the time you will see that most games commonly classified as "Dos abandonware" published between 1998 and 2001 were not made for Dos but Windows 95/98.

You can sort games by date of issue on any abandonware site and find a lot of these games.

There are not so many available for download yet because 99% of these games will run perfectly on any Windows based OS and you may find some still being sold in "old games collection cds" here and there, in some cases....

....another reason is that if the saga was successful the publishers just wont give away the rights to "something # II" when they are just about to launch "something again # VII"...

As said give a look through the whola Abandonware ring, eventually you will find what you are looking for and realize if it can be already downloaded or you need to wait for a better time!!
