Files needed to run games. Are they safe?

As a new user, i was wondering. Is it safe (technically speaking, not saying that you have virus's) to use some of the files that are used to make it work? I have 1 game that requests VDSRUN30.DLL to be installed for it and 1 game that needs a regestry key added. Will it damage my computer in any way? Btw, Vista Ultimate if OS is needed.

| It all should be safe! All games have been tested before they have been uploaded to the site so you don't have to worry about viruses. With that said older games might not work on newer systems but generally you have nothing to worry about. |
