Hi! You should try to install the DOSBox emulation program. You will find all information you need under "General FAQ" and DOSBox. Check it out and see if you can get the games to run. I normally have no problem getting games to work under Vista with DOSBox.

I also have the same Wing32.dll error if I try to run in Vista. I tried to run Allied General in the DOSBox emulator, and got the error message "this program can not be run in dos mode"

Anyone else have this problem and find a work-around?

I know running old windows games in Vista has been very hard. The error you get isn't really an error, it's just that it requires Windows not Dos. Try to right click on the .exe icon and choose properties and run the game in either win 98 or win 95 mode. See if that helps.

I tried installing Time stripper mako ... but it seems I need to do the crack installation first before dos will do anything. I tried following the steps, but when I tried running XCK.EXE I get the following message "The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher.

I use linux , so my old Windows games are managed by WINE . Couple of my friends with Vista as primary , suggest virtual machine with Windows95 as a best way to go . ( I'd suggest muving to Ubuntu :) )

Hi, this is for the m1a1sherman concerning wing32.dll

You can find this file to download on the internet. I have two operating systems on the go. Windows XP, and Windows 7, all I did was take the wing32.dll from XP, and copied it over to Windowssystem32 directory in windows 7 and it worked fine.

I have a game called Tower which was causing my problem, and that fixed it.

Hope this helped.

Hi, just another note. I also run Windows 98, and 95. I use the great program called "Microsoft_Virtual_PC2007_32Bit_setup.exe", which is free from Microsoft (I tell you, this baby really works well), which runs everything that I can't with XP, or Vista, or Windows 7.

Later!

Another Note for you DOS users here. Go find Defend-reloaded. Believe me, you won't regret it. This program works well on Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7, and about 98 percent of all dos games work great.

Just thought I would mention it. The latest version is just incredible, it also runs all emulations fron Simple Hercules, Cga,VGA, Tandy, Ega, Glide, and a slew of other video options, sound is great as well. There are far too many options to list here.

Just take a peek, you'll have your Dos games running at full tilt.

The program is called DEFEND-RELOADED.
